Smoothie Time: Strawberry & Banana Smoothie Bowl

Clean eating is still a very popular trend and a great way to introduce yourself to that trend is smoothie bowls! Smoothie bowls are super easy to make and you can completely tailor it to what your like. Just like with regular smoothies, there are so many recipes out there and don't feel that you have to follow the recipe exactly, I based this recipe on one by Deliciously Ella and then tailored to what I like! I love topping my smoothie bowls with more fruit, seeds and granola to add even more sweetness and some crunch - and let's face it, it makes it more pretty! Side note, if you love Instagram-worthy food, you should check out alphafoodie on Instagram, she makes some seriously beautiful food!

Ingredients
  • 1 frozen banana, chopped
  • 1 handful of frozen strawberries
  • 1 medjool date, pitted and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • A couple table spoons of dairy-free vanilla yoghurt (I used Alpro's dairy-free vanilla yoghurt and it tastes exactly like normal vanilla yoghurt)
  • Coconut milk
Method
  1. Put your frozen fruit into a food processor (I found this easier to blend than a blender)
  2. Add your date, oats, chia seeds and oats
  3. Add your vanilla yoghurt
  4. Add a little coconut milk before blending (you might want to add more to help blend)
  5. Blend to your preferred consistency
  6. Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite toppings - I added some more banana, chia seeds and some granola!
I hope you guys enjoy this smoothie bowl recipe and please let me know if you try this out! I am still planning to make a green smoothie but I haven't come up with a recipe that I like yet but I promise that it is still going to happen
